Ground8

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 29, 2026

We ask for very little information, we use it only to build and run your website, and we never sell it. Here is everything, written so you can actually read it.

1. Who we are

Ground8 builds and hosts simple websites for solo therapists and psychologists in private practice. For anything privacy-related, write to us at hello@ground8.app. A person will answer.

2. What we collect

  • Your email address — so we can send you your personal briefing form link and, if you have not finished it, a few gentle reminders (see section 3).
  • Your name, if you give it — it is optional and only used to address you properly.
  • Your briefing answers — the words, details, and any files or images you share about your practice. We use them to draft your website.
  • Payment status — payments are handled by our payment provider (see section 4). We never see or store your card details.
  • Basic technical logs — things like request times and error reports, to keep the service working and secure.
  • Usage analytics — we may use privacy-respecting analytics (PostHog) to understand how the site is used. No ad trackers, ever.

3. How we use it, and why

We use your information to:

  • Send you the briefing form link and build your website from your answers (this is us doing our job, so it is necessary for the contract between us).
  • Send you up to three reminders if the briefing form is still unfinished. These are service emails, not marketing, and they stop as soon as you complete the form.
  • Host, update, and support your site while you are a customer (again, the contract).
  • Keep the service safe and working (our legitimate interest in running a secure service).
  • Understand how the site is used so we can improve it (our legitimate interest; you can object — see section 8).

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not send marketing emails.

4. Who else sees your data

Your briefing answers are seen by our team — the people who build your site. That is it inside Ground8.

Outside Ground8, we rely on a small number of service providers to run the service:

  • Resend — delivers our emails to you.
  • Polar — processes payments. Your card details go straight to them; we never receive them.
  • Cloudflare (S3 storage) — stores files you upload for your site.
  • Our hosting provider — runs the website and the database where your answers live.
  • PostHog — may collect usage analytics, as described above.

These providers process data on our behalf, under contract, only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it. We do not sell your data, and there is no scenario in which we would.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards only for as long as the law requires (for example, basic billing records). If you ask us to delete your data, we will — see section 8.

6. Where your data lives

Your data is stored on our hosting provider's servers and with the providers listed above, which may be outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on standard contractual safeguards to protect it.

7. How we protect it

Access is limited to the people who need it, connections are encrypted, and we keep our systems updated. No service can promise perfect security, but we take this seriously and we will tell you promptly if anything ever goes wrong.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar region (GDPR): you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, get it in a portable format, or withdraw consent where consent is our basis. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are in the US: depending on your state, you can ask us what we collect, request a copy or deletion, and correct inaccuracies. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.

For any of these, email hello@ground8.app. We will respond within a reasonable time, at most 30 days.

9. Children

Ground8 is a service for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page with a new date. The current version always lives here.
